Masjid Al Noor & West Norfolk Islamic Association is one of the only established mosques in King’s
Lynn and surrounding areas, serving a large and diverse community.
The Masjid urgently requires a learned, dynamic and approachable scholar or student of knowledge to
take up the position of Imam at our beautiful, LABC national award-winning, Masjid Al-Noor.

Job Description
- Leading the 5 daily congregational prayers
- Deliver weekly Friday Jummah Khutbah (Sermon) and lead prayers
- Deliver Eid Khutbah and lead Eid Prayers
- Perform other required ceremonies, including janazah prayers & nikkah (marriage) ceremonies
- Take the lead in the Khatam-Al-Qur’an during annual Taraweeh prayers in Ramadan
- Actively engage within all sectors of the community
- Advise community members on Islamic queries
- Represent the organisation at interfaith relations
- Deliver regular scheduled teaching and classes to all community groups (i.e. youth Qur’an classes)
Essential Person Criteria
- Qualification in Islamic Studies from an recognised institution (i.e. Diploma, BA, MA)
- Hafiz Al-Qur'an
- Fluency in English Language
- Strong Islamic knowledge including Qur'an, Tajweed, Sunnah, Hadith, Shariah Law
- Exceptional interpersonal communication skills
- No prior convictions or cautions*
Desirable Person Criteria
- Previous experience in an Imam position
- Fluency in Arabic Language
- Comprehensive understanding of current political and religious affairs
- Experience in public relation engagements
